Inverted

Who has had a try at the #invertedchallenge yet?!

Rumoured to have been started by @patyna_makeup this trend has blown up the last few weeks with students and big Instagram names alike participating in it with some unusual spins on it too.

The look is based on creating an upside down or opposite illusion (invert) in a style similar to a photo negative. This is achieved by painting the design using mostly blues and blacks in facepaint, eyeshadow, greasepaint etc. Some artists then use an app to further interpret the inversion and play around with some cool results but not all do, sometimes the paint is an illusion enough.

Even our very own Angela Youngs @middleagedmaker couldn't resist the temptation to take part and when she joined us at a recent event in Kent she created a fabulous inverted look on model @ellerovs inspired by Phantom of the Opera
